As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will set the technical bar and grow the dynamics modeling capabilities for a variety of liquid propulsion rocket engines. As a subject matter expert, you will be involved in all aspects of the planning, design, build and test activities for complex Liquid Propellant Rocket Engine control, simulation and modeling. You will be expected to mentor, both technically and professionally, less experienced team members in the rigor required analysis the transient and dynamic performance of liquid propulsion rocket engines.

As an Engine Controls and Simulation engineer, you will participate in detailed engine control system design, transient analysis, engine simulation and modeling activities for new rocket engines and/or upgrades to existing rocket engines. You will contribute to engine system modeling improvements, establish processes, and define best practices for transient model development and analysis methods. You will be expected to support efforts to improve existing analytical capabilities and tools, participate in creation of the control system dynamic analysis technology roadmap and strategy formulation in engine controls and simulation and modeling arena. You may be required to interface with internal and external customers to develop engine transient performance requirements and work on optimization of the overall engine control system models based on system performance and mission requirements, program targets and constraints. You will also have opportunity to develop simulations of rocket engine and propulsion system components such as sensors, actuation systems and valves to meet program goals. In this role, you will be asked to support control system design optimization using engine control system and plant models that lead to overall rocket propulsion system performance requirement validation and engine operability optimization. Your responsibilities will include interfacing tasks with teams that develop engine controller, HIL and vehicle simulations to ensure that engine modeling is accurate for flight-critical analysis. You will also support the delivery of engine models to customers, communicate analysis results to the internal teams as well as external customers and share/document lessons learned.
