👷 Propulsion Production Engineer II – Engine Design and Integration

As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for the configuration management and CAD of flight rocket engine assemblies, and integration of component systems. Some components you could be responsible for include heat exchangers, pogo suppression systems, flexible elements, insulation, gimbal joints, structural supports, high pressure cryogenic fluid systems, pressurization systems, and hydraulic systems. You will support released propulsion components and author engineering changes requests at multiple Blue Origin manufacturing facilities.  You will make design for manufacturing improvements and integrate those improvements into the rocket engine assembly. You will use your technical expertise, excellent communication and problem-solving skills to investigate failures, perform root cause analysis and develop corrective actions for nonconformance's. To be successful in this position you will have good attention to detail, be able to hand multiple technical issues, and demonstrate knowledge of engineering release / configuration management, and mechanical engineering design using materials and manufacturing processes.

  • 3+ years relevant experience with component fabrication, build, assembly and testing on aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicles. 
  • Proficiency in CAD (Creo preferred) program and Windchill PLM 
  • Knowledgeable with GD&T implementation and analysis (ASME Y14.5) 
  • Working knowledge of aerospace materials and treatments 
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering  
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum 


  • Experience in the production, manufacturing, and assembly of rocket propulsion hardware 
  • Experience with 3D CAD and large assembly model management and configuration 
  • Experience with cryogenic fluids and oxygen compatibility 
  • Experience with aerospace quality management systems supporting propulsion hardware 
  • Experience transitioning products from development to production
